FACILITATORS

Alexander Wallis

Alexander Wallis BA (Hons)

Lead Facilitator

Alex was the founder and editor of Elemental a cross generational community arts project before being recruited by Portsmouth City Council to launch city wide youth drama and media work.  Alex developed unconventional approaches which had strong social themes and were fanatically popular among young people. He was invited to deliver hundreds of dramatic arts and P.S.H.E. sessions for partner organisations such as Respect, Catch 22, PARCS, TMSS and many schools and pupil referral units.

A graduate from the University of Chichester, Alex wrote his dissertation on the frustrated journey to adulthood of young people who are not in education, employment or training.  A friendly and confident practitioner, Alex is able to enthuse and inspire young people.

Alex has written for a number of publications including Children and Young People Now. His first novel 'The Way Knight' was published in Oct 2015. It explores the innocence of having questions instead of opinions, and the tensions between young people, their families and the state.

"I really appreciated your time and skills when I worked alongside you as a teacher; you are able to initiate and develop positive, trusting relationships with young people."

Bridget Pullen, Teacher

"Alex is passionate about his work, he is both creative and innovative in his style, he makes things fun and young people respond well to his interventions."
